Overview:

 

Tyco Electronics has recently launched TEOA - the Tyco Electronics Operating Advantage - and is seeking a Senior Lean Practitioner for this initiative in the US for our CIS business unit and will support Madison Cable, Norwood and Ident. This individual will be responsible for the planning, management and control of enterprise TEOA deployment projects in support of a multi-site, global business unit.

 

This position will report directly to the AmericasTEOA Leader and will be based in Worcester, MA. 

 

 



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development of US TEOA deployment plans consistent with business unit strategic and operational planning.

  • Identification and organization of resources required to achieve successful implementation in accordance with plan.
  • Coordination of regional initiatives in order to achieve consistency and standardization across CIS.
  • Manage and control individual project teams and deployment plans at both site and functional levels.
  • Develop skill levels of practitioners and other site personnel in order to implement and sustain TEOA.
  • Monitor progress against plans and achievement of continuous improvement and progression to higher star assessment levels at site levels.
  • Monitor and report site level measurements and performance to star assessment levels.

 Basic Qualifications for this role include the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of Operations experience
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience  (at least 5 years) implementing lean management on an enterprise or business unit level in a large, multi-unit operation.  International experience preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with other people and organizations and use influencing skills to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with senior management.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Team player with ability to establish and build consensus while insuring decisiveness and quality of decisions.
  • Analytical, detail oriented, data driven style of decision making.

General Requisite Experience

Minimum 3 years (5+ preferred) of "hands on experience" using lean tools and concepts to systematically transform value streams in order to promote process stability and flexibility, eliminate non-value-added waste, and replace batch push processing with flow and pull.

 

 

Required Lean Tools and Concepts Experience

  • Value Stream Mapping
  • 5S+1 - also referred to as 6S
  • Visual Factory
  • Standard Work and its use with TAKT time to design and create flexible manufacturing cells
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with an an emphasis on Autonomous Maintenance
  • Quick Change Over (QCO) - also referred to as SMED
  • Mistake Proofing - Also referred to as Error Proofing
  • Lean Material Replenishment and Flow techniques that includes experience with Pull (Supermarkets), Kanbans, First-In-First-Out, and Continuous Flow along with Production Leveling techniques

Advanced Concepts Experience

  • Mixed Model Product Segmentation techniques
  • Quality Control Process Charting (QCPC) and its use to reduce and eliminate Turnbacks
  • Production Preparation Process (3P)
  • Six Sigma (trained and/or certified Greens, Black or Master Black Belt)
  • Leader Standard Work and Lean Manufacturing System Audit techniques
