| Overview: |
The ideal candidate will manage approximately 40 engineers, technicians, and designers, responsible for supporting the conceptualization, design and qualification of ruggedized, lightweight interconnect hardware for military, marine and aerospace markets. The major product lines are: Aircraft wire and cable; Specialty multi-core cables; Controlled electrical cables; Heat Shrink tubing and molded parts; MTC rectangular connectors; Circular connector back-shells; MIL-STD-1553 data-bus products; Shield terminators, splices and other wiring devices; Harnesses made with these and other purchased components. Additionally the position will have responsibility for overseeing formulation and qualification of many polymeric materials used in these products. . The position will be responsible for managing the product development and for sustaining engineering for these product lines. In addition the position will work closely with customers, sales, product management, manufacturing, procurement and suppliers. This management position will be the primary interface between Engineering and Division Management.

| Responsibilities & Qualifications: |
Specific Duties include: - Monitor and guide the activities of the development and product engineering teams
- Meet performance and cost objectives for the engineering group
- Function as part of the team prioritizing and resourcing projects
- Meet cost savings objectives through engineering changes
- Drive the implementation of TEOA-E
- Provide engineering expertise
- Staff and resource the engineering groups and associated laboratories
- Work closely with the Advanced Development engineering group to take product concepts from the prototype stage through to fully developed products.
Requirements include proficiency in the following: - Materials Science especially as relating to polymers and metals.
- Electrical engineering related to signal transmission and shielding
- Mechanical engineering related to design of products for use in severe environments
- Product test in areas of mechanical, electrical, thermal, chemical, and shop handling.
- Evaluation of fundamental material properties.
- Six Sigma processes and tools
- Project management tools
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
- Good organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills are required.
- Demonstrated success managing development or sustaining engineering group
