Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting Manufacturing in: - Resolving production issues by determining the cause of manufacturing defects or failures and making recommendation to correct and resolve the problems; - Reviewing and suggesting design, process or equipment changes; - Setting-up manufacturing procedures; resolving customer's complaints; - Initiating/managing capital equipment projects; specifying and implementing new manufacturing equipment; - Scale-up new product for manufacturing; - Analyze yield and process data; - Document technical and manufacturing information. - Supporting process improvement projects in: - Providing leadership and direction to individuals and multi-functional teams in identifying, planning and implementing Lean/Six-Sigma initiatives; - Identifying and implementing key Lean/Six-Sigma metrics, estimating financial impact of projects, providing follow-up, updates and reports to management; - Utilizing team-based approach to elicit employee participation in the development of systems that save costs and improve the manufacturing processes. The following skills, education & experience is required: - At minimum: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Plastic Engineering with 4+ years of experience in an industrial environment. Higher degrees preferred. - Plastic and/or rubber processing. - Process troubleshooting and root cause analysis. - Experience in Lean/Six-Sigma methodology. - Hands-on experience with continuous improvement techniques. - Proven record of achieving cost savings and measurable operational improvements. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and encourage cultural change. - Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
