Overview:

Tyco Electronics' Commercial and Industrial Solutions Division is uniquely qualified to provide innovative electronics solutions for a variety of applications from appliances, fiber optics, PC connectors, data communications, network cables, power distribution to lighting.



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

The Commercial and Industrial Solutions Division is seeking a knowledgeable Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Supplier Quality Engineering Team in Harrisburg, PA.  In this challenging and rewarding position, you will be responsible for improving Tyco Electronics profitability in the following duties:

-         Develop Supplier skills in Six Sigma techniques to improve the Root Cause and Corrective Action mindset for continuous improvement.

-         Reduce past due Customer orders by reducing rejected product from Suppliers.

-         Troubleshoot severe Supplier product failures and manage corrective action process through to recovery.

-         Provide effective support to Suppliers, Procurement, Materials, and Manufacturing facilities.

-         Provide Supplier education in Products, Specifications, Quality and Delivery requirements.

-         Conduct Supplier Quality System audits and develop defect Containment and Prevention Action processes at Supplier sites.

-         Facilitate new supplier Start-up and Safe Launch processes.

-         Provide expertise and counsel in connector manufacturing processes and controls.

-         Domestic travel will be required.

-         International travel may be necessary.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Metallurgy or closely related) required. Experience in Metal Casting or Metal Forming such as Die Casting and Raw Metals Industry required.  Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access) required.  Three to five years experience in electrical connector manufacturing preferred.  Demonstrated knowledge of Six Sigma DMAIC tools preferred.  If candidate does not possess Six Sigma certification, they must be actively seeking certification.  ASQ CQE certified beneficial.
