Overview:

 

 

Responsible for developing manufacturing processes for RFQ’s and P.O.’s, providing mistake proofing methods, implementing process improvements, and executing cost savings for cable assemblies in the Industrial, Commercial, and Telecommunication product lines.

 

 



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

 

  • Works with Development Engineering as a Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer to provide insight on cable assembly manufacturing and evaluate the cable manufacturing processes before going into production
  • Responsible for reviewing product drawings and ensuring the manufacturing sites have the proper equipment for manufacturing, measuring, and electrically testing cable assemblies. 
  • Works in concert with Quality Engineering to conduct PFMEA’s and to provide manufacturing knowledge on customer related quality issues.
  • Functions as a liaison to global manufacturing facilities and is responsible to provide solutions to manufacturing issues, for both new and legacy products.
  • Responsible for tooling approval and selecting manufacturing equipment.
  • International travel is required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Prefer BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years minimum of hands on experience with cable assembly design, manufacturing, equipment selection, and process development.
  • A strong knowledge of termination and wire processing equipment would be a plus.
  • Must be able to understand and apply mechanical and electrical theory to test fixture development and use.
  • Experience with review of product performance specifications and design criteria associated with connectors and cable would be a plus.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to read and understand drawings a must – CAD experience beneficial
  • Must be able to work as a team member with remote sites and global manufacturing facilities / personnel.
  • Self starter, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate a proper balance between speed and accuracy.
  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally to manufacturing sites.
