 The Director of Procurement (Communications and Industrial Solutions/CIS) is a senior role in the organization reporting to the Global Director of Procurement.  This position leads a team of highly skilled individuals who support and drive strategic sourcing efforts and requires well developed negotiating skills, proficiency with information systems, and proven managerial ability.  The successful candidate will work with production, materials, and engineering departments to successfully manage material, design and sourcing opportunities improving the profitability, quality, and delivery of the business.

 Champion lean initiatives to improve material costs, lead times and order quantities

• Coordinate business unit spend analytics, supplier scorecard tracking, and market intelligence driving performance metrics on the procurement dashboard
• Support early supplier engagement with supplier technology shows, supply chain design, make/buy analysis, supply chain risk assessment, and new product launches
• Lead efforts to establish and maintain effective procurement processes and policies through the Tyco Electronics Operating Advantage initiative
• Oversee all aspects of staff training in the sourcing and procurement processes
• Manage supplier relationships and integrate suppliers as an extension of Tyco Electronics' manufacturing facilities with annual recognitions

Required Qualifications

• B.S. / B.A. degree in Business or degree programs such as Supply Chain Management or Engineering
• Supply chain experience in the electronics sector with a global supply base
• 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing with a major company
• 4+ years of management experience
• Track record of delivering process improvements, tools, and feedback supporting cost reduction to achieve targets
• Experience driving financial metric improvements
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Experience with financial business cases, project management and decision making
• Demonstrated success leading teams to achieve goals
• PC Proficiency in Microsoft applications; MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Reporting & Analysis Tools

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S., MBA, and/or CPM
