| Overview: |
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will develop and design new circuit protection products. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is creative, motivated, insightful, and able to accomplish. The successful individual will be responsible for the following: - Be a project leader or assist project leader to review product requirements for design feasibility
- Develop mechanisms and packages for novel circuit protection products from initial concept and design solutions through release to manufacturing
- Specify and effectively engage external vendor resources to produce product prototypes and tooling that meet product requirements
- Work with and/or lead cross-functional teams and outside resources to bring concepts to reality
- Effectively apply project management fundamentals, including costing, scheduling, and managing resources to meet project goals

| Responsibilities & Qualifications: |
Qualifications: - Ability to conceive of novel product concepts and design solutions from specification documents, the scientific literature or trade journals
- Ability to gather and analyze information to create mechanical quantifiable specifications from product requirements
- Ability to develop electronics packages and intricate mechanical or electro-mechanical devices a plus, such as connector design, relay design, or micro-mechanical actuators.
- Have solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and practices, including materials science, physics, and electrical fundamentals
- Strong CAD solid modeling skills required, ProEngineer Wildfire preferred, but Solid Works may substitute. Use of 2D Autocad a plus
- Ability to produce fully dimensioned and toleranced engineering CAD drawings, and familiarity with ECN practices for document control required
- Experience with design requirements for product manufacturing techniques, including metal stamping, finishing, plating, and plastic injection molding required
- Have knowledge about vendor resources including rapid prototyping technologies, metal stamping, machining, wire EDM, chemical etching
- Beneficial to have experience with high-volume manufacturing assembly techniques, such as pick & place, vibratory bowl feeding, laser welding, ultrasonic welding, automated inspection
- Ability to perform or direct personnel to perform mechanical and thermal analyses programs for polymeric and metallic parts preferred
Desired Education, Experience, and Skills: - BS degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline, MS is preferred
- 5 - 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and new product development preferred
- Must be a result-oriented and self-initiated professional
- Ability to work in fast-paced and project focused environment
- Strong teamwork effectiveness, leadership, and communication skills required
