Overview:

The Global Application Tooling Division (GATD) of Tyco Electronics is currently seeking a Product Engineer to join our team.    GATD is a worldwide engineering and manufacturing business unit that designs and manufactures application equipment, associated tooling and precision machined products for all markets.  

 

Our Product Engineer will support our hand tool and bench terminator product lines.   This position is located at our Harrisburg, PA facility.



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

 

Responsibilities

  • Design of new application tooling and engineering maintenance of existing tooling
  • Effectively interact with customers and manufacturing facilities to resolve problems and perform design changes
  • Develop projects that will improve the quality, life and/or function of products including design changes and/or improvements for manufacturing cost reduction.
  • Provide technical analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.
  • Provide customer support and alternative solutions for customer needs.
  • Frequent travel to manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA required

 Qualifications & Experience

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in engineering and/or design role
  • Machine design experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience with Pro-Engineer design
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential
  • Candidate must maintain a positive, professional attitude
