Engineer assigned primarily to manufacturing environment with responsibility and expertise in four pair CAT 5e, 6, 6A (10Gig) plenum and riser constructions both shielded and unshielded. Review and assessment of overall manufacturing process and equipment to ensure quality product.

Assist with elimination of Return Loss issues on Cat 6 and Cat 6A products.  Assist with root cause of CAT 5e Plenum NEXT issue and establish corrective action to eliminate future issues.  Establish best demonstrated practices (BDP) for Category Cable manufacturing.  Working knowledge of industry standards (TIA, IEEE, ISO, etc.) and regulatory standards (UL, ETL, NFPA, NEC, etc.).  Strong understanding of twisted pair cable design (Category Cable shielded and unshielded).  Strong background in extrusion processes for materials such as FEP, MFA, and PE in solid and foam extrusion and auxiliary equipment needed for twinning, backtwisting, cabling, jacketing, and final packaging. 

B. S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.  A minimum of five - seven years manufacturing expertise in four pair CAT 5e, 6, 6A (10Gig) plenum and riser constructions both shielded and unshielded.  Troubleshooting skills to assist with manufacturing issues associated with CAT 5e, 6, 6A (10 Gig) plenum and riser four pair cable including the physical properties of the product and transmission requirements:  DC Resistance, Mutual Capacitance, Attenuation, Characteristic Impedance, Near End Crosstalk (NEXT), Power Sum NEXT, Equal Length Far End Crosstalk (ELFEXT), Power Sum ELFEXT, Return Loss, Insertion Loss, Propagation Delay and Delay Skew.  Crosshead, screw, and tooling design a plus.
