| Responsibilities & Qualifications: |
Primary responsibilities include: Design and develop new surgical, catheter, patient monitoring, ultrasound, test and measurement, and bulk cable products - Model and formulate cable design constructions to meet customer's electrical performance requirements
- Apply electrical test results to cable design modeling assumptions to refine cable designs
- Provide cost effective design solutions
- Work with manufacturing process staff to ensure cable designs can be manufactured to meet customer requirements
- Resolve quality and manufacturing problems associated with design
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) for bulk cable products within schedule and performance constraints
- Provide design oversight and review throughout the life cycle of cable product
- Redesign cable products to reduce cost and improve performance
- Provide technical resource for cable performance and reliability to development and manufacturing engineering staff
- Understand and comply with all company rules and regulations
- Consistent and predictable attendance
- Report unsafe conditions and practices to management
Minimum qualifications include: - B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical, desired) or equivalent experience in a design engineering capacity
- Five or more years of related electro-mechanical design engineering work; cable development desired
- Three or more years of project management experience for a new product design engineering
- Working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and cable design principles such that design choices can be made with little or no technical guidance
- Demonstrated aptitude of effective mechanical or electrical design skills including but not limited to frequent use of 2-D and 3-D CAD modeling, GD&T, and prototypes
- Demonstrated history of effective problem solving skills, aptitude of project management skills and effectively managing self and others to meet deadlines
- Demonstration of good written and oral communication skills
