Overview:

 

The Quality/RMA Engineer will provide leadership and support for the development and implementation for company quality policies and procedures. Work with product development, supply chain, manufacturing and service to drive quality improvement.  Be the point of contact of customer RMA/ quality concerns for business unit.



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with global quality group to drive quality system and assurance improvement  and lead the execution at local site
  • Lead and facilitate problem resolution in the manufacturing areas with the use of structured problem solving tools.
  • Participate in and lead NCMR failure analysis activities, initiate Corrective Actions when appropriate, and ensure customer requirements are adequately addressed.
  • Lead customer returns failure analysis, initiate Corrective Actions when appropriate and generate failure analysis reports for the customer when required.
  • Liaison between external customers and manufacturing sites on quality related issues and inquiries.
  • Provide training and support to the organization regarding the quality system, quality tools and related topics.
  • Interface with supplier quality representatives concerning problems with quality and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Support new product and process qualification activities to ensure products meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Perform reliability calculations, select appropriate standard, operating environment, components and run the required calculations.
  • Review scrap and rework to determine cost of quality trends and make recommendations to processes, procedures, etc. to improve.
  • Provide technical support to first article, incoming inspection, generate incoming inspection plans and initiate supplier corrective action activities when required.
  • Provide service/ repair report as required, and supervise local service group to meet service turn-around-time, cost and quality target.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Highly developed skills in oral and written communications
  • Internal audit training/ experiences required
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • In depth knowledge of ISO quality systems, policies and procedures and the ability to apply that knowledge to the interpretation of customer requirements.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of quality/ manufacturing engineering experience in electronics manufacturing environment desired.
  • Excellent structured problem solving skills.
  • Experience with ISO13485 and FDA requirement preferred.
