Overview:

   The Systems Engineer will facilitate the expedited release of new monitor projects concentrating on cost reductions



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

    

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with sales, product management and customers to define concepts and requirements for new products.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging display technologies.
  • Lead development of LCD displays in new products.
  • Investigate best display technologies from potential suppliers.
  • Be a mentor to other engineers and technicians.
  • Write the product specs for new projects.
  • Participate in LCD supplier selection
  • Perform the necessary tests, and review test results from the display vendors, system OEMs, and cross-functional groups to ensure the performance specifications are met.
  • Identify all open engineering issues and drive them to closure in a timely fashion to support project needs.
  • Ensure all documentation and deliverables for projects are met.
  • Support manufacturing needs in monitors.
  • Support customers and sales in new and existing products.

 

 Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Circuit design and layout ability on OrCad/Allegro systems preferred.
  • Experience in the design, development and manufacturing of industrial flat panel display systems preferred.
  • An overall understanding of displays, analog and digital design, software, firmware, mechanical design, human factors, and photometry. 
  • Ability to do basic monitor measurements including brightness, viewing angle, color characteristics, electrical measurements, and software evaluation preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of computers, LCD device technology and display systems required.
  • Track records in flat panel display and computer R&D, product development and shipping products.
  • Working experience on LCD displays for industrial products preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills required.
  • Experience in systems environmental, reliability, safety, and EMC standards & testing preferred.
  • Additional understanding of USB, audio amplifiers, cameras, mag-stripe readers, scanners, etc preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Lead architect for new projects.

5 years System Engineering experience

BSEE/MSEE
