Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Primary responsibilities:

  •  Monitor and interpret existing and new environmental compliance.
  • Monitor and interpret laws, regulations and guidelines, then analyze to develop associated product portfolio strategies.
  • Develop and implement product portfolio strategies to establish compliance to laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Establish business processes designed to control restricted substances through design, procurement, thorough manufacturing and delivery to customers.
  • Recommend compliant materials.
  • Operate within and influence enhancements to corporate material databases.
  • Develop and track product compliance related metrics.
  • Develop systems and tools to provide easy access to evolving product compliance information.
  • Assist in responding to customer specific product compliance questions.

Minimum qualifications:

  •  Five or more years of product compliance engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Medical device environment desired.
  • Five or more years of project management skills.
  • Experience in the development of new business processes.
  • Experience in guiding teamwork across several sites.
  • Demonstrated track record in monitoring changing regulation and revising response strategies.
  • Drive product coding and product conversion strategies.
  • Operate within a rigorous Change Control environment.
  • Ability to analyze and implement projects.
  • Willingness to lead and to be an individual contributor as required.
  • Experience with standards and certifications from agencies responsible for RoHS, REACH, Canada Health and other environmental directives.
  • BS in engineering or related field.
  • Material Science (polymers) background desired.
  • Ability to occasionally travel.
